Tangerine Tango!

Tangerine Tango

The must-have color for 2012

If you wondered what’s new in 2012, wonder no more. The past couple of years the IN color palette has been moving from reds to orange, and the new year is in for a big splash. It’s a high-octane deep orange that radiates energy, warmth and, well, daring. The color this year is Pantone’s Tangerine Tango, a vibrant, deep, red-orange that brings to life the wedding of the bride and groom who are cutting edge.

As one of our favorite wedding consultants, Amina Michele, of Some Like It Classic wrote, “One of my favorite flowers is the orange flame calla lily. It is the perfect complement to pull off that Tangerine color for 2012…plus offers a little more dimension than a plain orange.”

This color is perfect for the young woman who has a kiss of golden tan and it is stunning on the woman with flaming red hair. Tangerine Tango warms and brightens everything around it. So, if your bridesmaids balk at wearing the newest orange in the world of color, why not add it to the bouquets, the centerpieces, pillar candles, the table linens or the groom’s tie?

The energy and attractiveness of this hue expressed warmth as it was needed … paired with black or deep backgrounds, it gives a vibrant, surprisingly elegant restraint. For the summer wedding season, add hot pink and a touch of green. Tangerine Tango is perfect for the fall wedding and will be highly visible in the collections for autumn. Some unique color combinations you will see year round are Tangerine Tango and purple. The Southwest lends its color turquoise for a fabulous effect.

It wasn’t so many years ago, orange was THE color. It was everywhere you looked. As all good things must end, our favorite orange faded away. But like one very perspicacious woman said, “Everything old is new again!” And just when we needed it most, here is Tangerine Tango to brighten up our world.
