It’s all in the details
It’s your wedding day. You bought all the bride magazines that you could find, and you’ve been clipping pictures of ideas for your big day forever. Every wedding vision you have ever had is sophisticated and fashionable, the way that you think a wedding in Chicago or San Francisco or New York would be. The problem is that you live in Phoenix so how are you going to get that big city look without packing up everyone you know and heading away from home? Easy… it’s all in the details.
When it comes to flowers for your wedding, less can be more. A simple arrangement of all one kind of flower massed together in a simple beautiful vase is hard to beat. A monochromatic arrangement or bouquet can be incredibly sophisticated. Accent your arrangement with votives or your beautiful bouquet with amazing ribbon handle details and you have a winner. Another suggestion is a collection of vessels, maybe your own crystal bud vases that your mother started buying for you when you were a little girl, massed on your tables, each with one perfect bloom. This look screams sophistication and it has a personal touch too.
If fashion details are your thing, don’t forget to include something unexpected in your floral pieces and your personal flowers, like feather accents or metal coils for artful dimension. Your bouquet is the perfect place to add the touches that you see in magazines. A ribbon wrapped bouquet handle is the perfect canvas for your Grandmother’s hankie or your mom’s brooch that she wore the day she married your dad. (This is also a great way to include your something borrowed.)
There is even a trend this season for jeweled boutonnières…its not a look for every groom, but you will never know unless you ask him. Speaking of jewels…if adding a little glitz isn’t really your thing, how about a wedding with a jewel tone pallet? Rich tones of ruby reds, amethyst purples, sapphire blues, orangey golden citrines and emerald green creates a warm sophisticated look.
Another city trend is including your four legged family members in the ceremony, so a rich colored floral tie or a jewel toned wreath of flowers on Rover will create some of your favorite wedding memories.
Dreams do come true. Don’t think that just because you live in Phoenix you won’t be able to have the sophisticated wedding of your dreams. Remember, Phoenix is a destination wedding location in the United States, and you are one of the lucky ones who don’t have to pack up to enjoy it. You got the guy and now you’ll have the day…it’s all in the details.
