Change It Up… and wow the crowd

“Don’t scrutinize… accessorize”

As brides stand in front of the grand mirror gazing at themselves in one fabulous wedding dress after another turning one way and then another, a common thought pings through her mind. “Maybe I should get two dresses!” While strutting plural gowns for the big day may not be feasible, except if you’re hosting the Academy Awards, it’s not hard to see why brides desire to change up the look. Every bride has a common goal. They are looking for the gown that has it all. But…can a bride achieve their vision without sacrificing important elements of the dress and their piggy banks?

Traditional to please the family… but modern enough to make friends swoon… sexy for the I Do’s… but sweet for the cake tasting…miles and miles of train for the march… but manageable for the choreographed dance number.

The solution: Have it all! Find one gown with clean lines and use fresh accessories to transform the look of your oh-so-important purchase. Here are three ideas to save a cent and wow the crowd!

Dress up an already dressy dress. Add a lace jacket and additional train for the ceremony then shimmy it off for the reception. One bride we know, captured every eye wearing an off-the-shoulder organza and lace button-back jacket with a stunning cathedral train over her taffeta mermaid gown. To transition to the formal December reception, she removed the jacket, French-bustled the train, and danced the night away.

Don’t be bound by one look. Tie a dainty, organza and velvet floral sash around your waist for the photos then swap it for a blingy hip belt to get the party started. Another bride fashioned two dramatically different Enzoani belts, the industry’s trendsetter for such accessories.

Shed being single. Purchase a gown with a detachable element. Yo u’re not considered a two-timer if your train or skirt from knee down can be unsnapped, unbuttoned, unzipped, or untied! As her reception began at the chic Inspirador venue in Chandler, another lovely bride wowed her guests with a floor length gown that, unknown to her guests, was separate from the elaborate train in which she said I do.

Final thought: When shopping for the perfect wedding gown that meets your criteria and gives you that feeling, don’t scrutinize…accessorize! It’s much cheaper than a whole other gown and fun to keep your groom and guests guessing…What’s she going to wear next?
